Extreme Weather Event

our first assignment is to research an extreme weather event from the past. Include the following information:

What makes this weather event extreme?
Provide the historical context of the event:
Country, region, and/or city affected
People and groups affected
What was the societal preparedness plan or awareness at the time, if any?
Provide some background on how the location and communities were affected:
Destroyed infrastructure
Fatalities
Complete change of landscapes
This assignment is meant to be open ended, and the above should act as an outline to what should be included. However, when thinking of events to research, remember that this assignment is limited to extreme weather events. Tsunamis, earthquakes and volcanoes are NOT weather events and therefore will result in zero points if used as the topic of your assignment.

Also, you are encouraged to select events not discussed in the course material and outside the recent past, including events during ancient times that led to the collapse of societies or events taking place more than 100 years ago before technological advancements in predicting weather.

Your response should be roughly two pages, double spaced. Be sure to cite references, and format your paper using APA style.

2. Describe characteristics that make weather events extreme.
3. Analyze the impact that extreme weather events have made on surrounding communities and broader society.
