I believe no one leadership style is best for too long and eventually loses its luster after a period of time and becomes ineffective. It is important that as a leader gains experience, she has a better understanding of what her strengths and weaknesses are and is able to balance different styles to maintain effectiveness. I don’t disagree that working for a transformational leader is attractive, however a leader that can balance the styles and play the cards right depending on the situation, is ideal. I believe a leader that can balance leadership, thus the employees, has the ability to maximize personnel and keep them on their toes when being transactional or autocratic.
