For Profit or Not for Profit

Read Chapter 9 and The Doctrines of Watsons book Leadership Secrets of the Salvation Army (SA), read Chapter 12 and MARIOTT (My Recipe for Success) of Marriotts book Without Reservations: How a Family Root Beer Stand Grew into a Global Hotel Company (M). List 3 to 5 critical points that answer the following question:
Discussion Question #1: After this week’s readings, in a WORD document (1-2 pages in length), Pause, Reflect and explain:  are you interested in being a leader in a For-Profit or a Not For Profit organization? Why based on hard fact analysis or do you go with your gut instinct? This should be 1-2 pages. Submission criteria: There are 2 parts to this submission:
(1)  Reference 3 to 5 specific events for both Salvation Army and Marriott organizations.
(2)  Then tell us why you choose each of those events to share with us.  In other words, what is significant of each of the events you choose from a Leadership perspective; reference what Leadership principle, concept or value you are applying to this event.  Those principles, concepts or values can come from any of your previous course work (i.e. work that covered Leadership (LDR 300), Case Studies in Leadership (LDR 340), Innovation (LDR 360), Effective Conflict Resolution (LDR 400), Leading Change (LDR 440), and Creating Effective Teamwork (LDR 460).
