This is for a Real Estate course
Each student will write a term paper on a topic of his or her choice. This assignment requires demonstration of your ability to think of a land use/real estate problem, analyze the problem, using approaches and materials we discuss in class and seek a potential solution.
You will choose a topic (of your choice and get it approved by the instructor), and collect at least 5-7 reference materials. You will read the reference materials, understand, synthesize the materials, analyze your data, and write a research paper demonstrating your understanding of the problem, analysis of the problem and its potential solution.
The research paper will be five to six pages in length (excluding tables, graphs, pictures, title page and references) and of roughly 1600-1700 words. Please word process your paper, use 11-12 font size (Times New Roman or other standard style). You must either use one and half or double-space your paragraphs. It is your responsibility to proof read your paper. If you write a paper in a sloppy manner, you will lose points.
Follow the following suggested format in writing your final paper (you should be creative!):
- Title
- Abstract
- Introduction
- Questions
- Literature Review-plan documents, newspaper, journal articles, published chapters in books.
- Could use California Rand Statistics, American Fact Finder, Employment Development Department (California), Private Vendor Data for putting together data sets
