Good afternoon,
Can you assist me with these questions below?
What is your chosen research methodology? Provide justification for why this research methodology is best suited to your study. Describe alternative research methodologies and explain why these would be less effective in helping you validate your hypotheses.
The purpose of this quantitative correlational study is to assess the relationship between leadership style (transformational leadership, transactional leadership, and passive/avoidant), toxic leadership, and job satisfaction of employees.
FYI, The MSQ is The Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ) is designed to measure an employee’s satisfaction with his or her job. The MLQ Rater Form is composed of 45 items and was designed to assess how the leader’s superiors, peers, subordinates, and others perceive the leader’s leadership behaviors.
The following research questions and hypotheses will be addressed in this study:
RQ1: What is the most prevalent leadership style (transformational leadership, transactional leadership, passive/avoidant behaviors) in the work setting as measured by the MLQ, the level of toxic leadership (Self-Promotion, Abusive Supervision, Unpredictability, Narcissism, and Authoritarian Leadership) as measured by the TLC, and the level of job satisfaction in the workplace as measured by the MSQ?
RQ2: Is there a significant relationship between perceived leadership style (transformational leadership, transactional leadership, passive/avoidant behaviors) and toxic leadership (Self-Promotion, Abusive Supervision, Unpredictability, Narcissism, and Authoritarian Leadership)?
H02: There is no significant relationship between perceived leadership style (transformational leadership, transactional leadership, passive/avoidant behaviors) and toxic leadership (Self-Promotion, Abusive Supervision, Unpredictability, Narcissism, and Authoritarian Leadership).
H12: There is a significant relationship between perceived leadership style (transformational leadership, transactional leadership, passive/avoidant behaviors) and toxic leadership (Self-Promotion, Abusive Supervision, Unpredictability, Narcissism, and Authoritarian Leadership).
RQ3: To what extent, if any, do perceive leadership styles (transformational leadership, transactional leadership, passive/avoidant behaviors, and toxic leadership (Self-Promotion, Abusive Supervision, Unpredictability, Narcissism, and Authoritarian Leadership), significantly predict employee job satisfaction?
H03: Perceived leadership style (transformational leadership, transactional leadership, passive/avoidant behaviors, and toxic leadership (Self-Promotion, Abusive Supervision, Unpredictability, Narcissism, and Authoritarian Leadership), do not significantly predict employee job satisfaction.
H13: Perceived leadership style (transformational leadership, transactional leadership, passive/avoidant behaviors, and toxic leadership (Self-Promotion, Abusive Supervision, Unpredictability, Narcissism, and Authoritarian Leadership), significantly predict employee job satisfaction.
