graph

Assignment Create four types of graphs (line, bar, pie, and scatter) using four different data sets. Microsoft Excel or an equivalent computer program must be used. Dallas College students have free access to Office 365. Click here for more information. Step 1. Determine the appropriate data for each type of graph. For example, the monthly mean temperature data would be appropriate for a line graph but not for a scatter graph. Step 2. Collect the data sets. A large amount of data is available on the internet. For example, United States Geological Survey (USGS) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) have large collections of earthquake and temperature data, respectively. While collecting data, legitimate sources must be used. Wikipedia is not considered as a reliable source in academia. Step 3. Create graphs. Include axis labels, and unit of measurement in each graph when it is appropriate. Step 4. Copy and paste the graphs into the Word document and create a caption for each graph (see the example on page 2). How to create captions: Each figure should be numbered. Start the caption with a simple label. Write a brief description of the observed data and include the data source. Step 5. Provide the list of references in the MLA format (see the Citation Help web link). Step 6. Convert the Word document to pdf and upload it on to eCampus. Final check Your pdf file should contain 4 graphs, 4 captions, and 4 references.
