HEADING
Hypothesis: A Proposed Explanation Based on Evidence
A hypothesis is a statement or prediction of the relationship among two or more variables that is testable and falsifiable. Hypotheses are usually developed based on observation, prior knowledge, or already existing research findings, which, in turn, provide the foundation for a scientific experiment. A hypothesis gives a specific direction so that it can be tested by data collection. It can be either a null hypothesis, a guess that there is no effect or relationship, or an alternative hypothesis, that an effect or relationship does exist. A hypothesis is considered valid because it has been empirically tested and analyzed.
