For this assignment, you will begin to articulate your personal model of counseling This will evolve as you progress in the program and throughout your career as a professional counselor. As this is a personal reflection paper, the use of the first person is acceptable.

You will address the following:

  • Your motivation for pursuing the field of professional counseling.
  • How you view the nature of people.
  • Which of the theories explored in the first half of the course resonates for you the most, and why.

Assignment Requirements

  • Template: Use the Unit 5 Assignment Template [DOCX], linked in the Resources, to complete this assignment.
  • References: References are not required, however, if you draw from the sources then cite/reference APA style.
  • Length of paper: The body of the paper must be 1–2 pages, not including the title and reference pages.
  • Written communication: Develop accurate written communication and thoughts that convey the overall goals of the project and do not detract from the overall message. Your paper should demonstrate graduate-level writing skills.
  • Formatting: Use the current APA formatting, including correct in-text citations, proper punctuation, double-spacing throughout, bolding, one-inch margins all around, and no bullets. Refer to the APA Style and Format campus page for more information.
  • Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 point.
