History Rousseau The Social Contract

Jean Jacques Rousseau is considered to be one of the greatest thinkers of the Enlightenment. In 1762, he published a work called The Social Contract which outlined his opinion on society, civic duty and government. I would like you to please read a series of excerpts from that work provided at this website: https://history.hanover.edu/courses/excerpts/165rous-sc.html .

Please focus on the societal implications of what Rousseau proposes in his work and give examples of each of these in your reading. Is his model feasible? Does it propose equanimity? Do you find any conflict with it? Make sure to also let me know the historical context and significant events surrounding and affecting the written work or being affected by it. What impact do you believe it had?
