How does the education they received up to the age of 5 affect children emotionally in their adult life?

Here is the place to submit your project.

The purpose of this assignment is to help students understand the main theories of child development, to be able to compare and contrast the theories, and to be able to apply them to everyday experiences of children.

Class Final: Developing an Applied Theory Notebook

This final project is an ongoing exercise throughout the course.  You are to gather useful information regarding children and child development that can be used in daily life in the notebook.

Student Instructions:

Student Instructions:
Throughout this course, you will be introduced to many theories about child development.  There will be a lot of information and some theories may contradict others.  To utilize this information, it is important to become familiar with theories and their criticisms. Doing this can help understand how, when, where and what to apply when dealing with children and their  development.

Additionally, it is important to understand that opinions about theories can develop over time and alter based on experiences.  Ones opinion on day one may not be the same at the end of the semester (or in subsequent life).
The purpose of this assignment is to help students understand the main theories of child development, to be able to compare and contrast the theories, and to be able to apply them to everyday experiences of children.
The theory notebook should be written using APA 6th edition guidelines.  It should include the following:

Sections covering one theory per chapter discussed in the textbook
Each theorys title should be written in bold and centered on the page.
You may find ideas from the textbook but the source itself must come things outside the textbook.
Each should include a description written in the students own words.
Do not quote them directly put it in your own words and cite them.
com will indicate if more than 24% of writing is not in your words (from outside sources).
Anything over 25% will not be graded and will need to be redone.
Each section should include criticisms of the theory, research, lack of research, methodology (not following the scientific method, etc.).  You may also include what should have been included.
Conclusion wrap up  the journal with final thoughts summarizing what has been learned and how it will be used (by  yourself or others).
Required items in the paper also include:
Title Page your name, class name, semester and date
Table of Contents (listing of each chapter and the title of what youre writing about)
Center each theorys title in bold on the page.
Introductory paragraph(s)
Outline why you decided to do this topic and what the goal is etc.
Each Chapters item
Conclusion Section
How did the studies and reviewing this research effect your opinion? Did your opinions of the theory and a discussion about how change during the course of the semester.
summarize what has been learned and how it will be used (by  yourself or others)

Reference section
Use APA format
Inserting references where it is used in the writing
create the reference pages
This is done easiest by using the insert reference tool in MS Word (and other writing programs).

Other
to support their arguments for and against theories students may cite peer reviewed journal articles and other resources that contain an authors name, date, and title of location.
For instance
a web source that is simply called Child Discipline w/ no authors name, date, etc. cannot be used.
The below web source is OK as it contains all necessary items.
https://kidshealth.org/en/parents/discipline.html (authors name, date, etc. are at the bottom and references are provided in the text).
6) You may not insert quotes over 2 sentences in length this is a work to be done in your own words.
Quotes inserted need to support what you have written in your own words.
there should be a minimum of 1 page of text per theory.  Some theories will require more pages.
Submit by the deadline for maximum points
Late submissions is possible but a daily deduction is taken.
Strongly suggest that you go through this weekly so it does not add up into a lot to do at the end.

The type and style of child care can affect both the immediate and long term development of children.

Chapter 2 Does Reinforcement Really Work? Can we pay children to help them develop?
Operant Conditioning indicates that we can reinforce children into doing whatever we want them to do and be.  Does conditioning really help shape children into good habits, responsible children (and later adults) or does free will have more impact than is indicated?

Chapter 3 Should We Believe What We are Told By Research?

Below is a brief breakdown of chapter 1

Chapter 1 Early Child Care Impacts Development
The type and style of child care can affect both the immediate and long term development of children.
  Description:

o Write the description here in your own words

o Example:
From the beginning of psychology Freud and others have noted that the way we are raised can determine our actions as children, teens, and adults.  There is a wealth of information that assert that helicopter or over involved parents are damaging to children.  Others describe how uninvolved parents can do damage to their children.  Psychologically and physically there are examples that  demonstrate how over and under involved parents can affect their children.  This aims to outline how various levels and types of parental involvement can affect children both immediately and later in life.

o Include sub-headings
Freudian notions of parent involvement and their affects on children and in the future
Adlerian notions of parental involvement and their affects on children and in the future
Care and physical attachment necessary for infant thriving or decline
Behavioral psychologys ideas on how reinforcement and conditioning affect children
Systemic theories effect on how children develop and the types of relationships their most likely to have (with friends, family, and in the future).
Applied items where you can see these things in daily life with children

You can see that infants really do go through an oral stage almost everything is put in their mouth.  Is this dangerous or helpful?  Some say that physically putting things in the mouth helps awaken the senses and nervous systems while at the very least helping infants build their immune systems to the things we are around almost daily.

o Include supporting items
Expound on these items in your own words and cite them
  Criticism/Opposing Views

o Write the opposing views/criticisms here in your own words

o Include sub-headings
Contrary views of the above sub headings

o Include supporting items
Expound on these items in your own words and cite them
Any concluding thoughts on this topic.
