Do you think history matters today?
I do believe history is very important. History has molded our society to the way it is today. History has influenced the foundation of society today, and can provide guidance in improving our society in the future. History has not always been a positive aspect to all individuals. It has been negative to many individuals and many groups of people simply due to their differences. History can influence our future by motivating and educating future generations on past mistakes, therefore creating a society that is open, understanding, and fair to all it’s individuals.
Additionally, as discussed in this units lecture, history can influence our society in many ways that one might not even think about. For instance, education, local speed limits, neighborhood restrictions, and much more. History may have influenced the way society is today, however it can determine a better society that benefits all individuals living in it.
