This is an abridged version of an example:
My three issues – gender based violence in Bosnia, education in Bosnia and lastly unemployment. I will focus on unemployment. For example if I wanted to talk about unemployment in Bosnia I would start by explaining that this is a problem and would cite a source that shows the rate has been as high as 30% in 2010 and as low as 19% in 2020 which is still high compared to the USA which is at 6% and was at 13% at the height of the pandemic. (citation 2 statistics sites that follow unemployment). Gender plays a role – evidence a study about the higher unemployment and lower educational level among women compared to men. I would also mention the differences between urban and rural population. Lastly I would focus on why this is a problem – the fact that unemployment affects the entire country which forces people to work abroad and face discrimination. I would also connect this to sexual and other types of abuse of immigrant and domestic workers and mention Rigoberta Menchu article we read for class. At the end I would cite the sources I used. Rigoberta Menchu “A Maid in the capital”World bank data set – Bosnia and HerzegovinaData sheet – Bureau of Labor Statistics (USA) Lejla Somun-Krupalija “Gender and Employment in Bosnia and Herzegovina”
