In this course, you have completed a preliminary investigation of trends in facility design practices and a community needs assessment. Now, imagine that two physicians learned about your research and have recruited you to help them convert a warehouse into an ambulatory surgical center (ASC). You are now fully engaged in the project and are much more knowledgeable and experienced than when you started. Furthermore, you now have a specific location on which to focus.

Scenario:

The two physicians have realized they are embarking on a major capital project and have asked to borrow a large sum of money from the bank. The bank wants to be sure that the doctors have a facility plan that will benefit the community’s health care status in the present and the future. The doctors have asked you to handle the details.

Create a 12- to 15-slide presentation for the bank that is local to the ASC project. In your presentation:

  • Identify and describe at least 3 of the community’s top health care needs.
  • Explain how the physicians’ plan will address the present needs.
  • Explain 3 health care delivery trends that may impact how the facility is used in the future.
  • Using the U.S. General Services Administration’s (GSA) Sustainable Facilities Tool, explain how the planned facility will be economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable long past the term of the requested loan.

Include a title slide, a reference slide, and detailed speaker notes of at least 50 words per slide.

Note: If you prefer, you may write a 1,050- to 1,400-word paper instead of creating a 12- to 15-slide presentation.

Cite at least 3 scholarly sources to support your assessment.

Format your citations and references according to APA guidelines.
