Give examples of two instances of plagiarism that you have encountered during the course of your academic work or career experience. Make sure that you do not use real names when sharing your experiences. Discuss how these instances negatively impacted the information and sources that were involved. How was the academic or professional standing of the individuals responsible affected? How does this relate to a similar situation in the geosciences? If you have not encountered a real-life instance of plagiarism or are not able to discuss your actual examples, develop your own fictional example instead.
