Summarize Joyce’s “Eveline”
For summaries, in 500 words simply explain the main plot events of the story, objectively. Do not analyze/offer opinions or evaluations. Gather the who, what, where, when, why and how, and after a short introduction, proceed linearly. You may occasionally pull from direct quotation to color your summary with highlights, but most of your text should be paraphrase of events. You do not have to parenthetically cite these paraphrases, as you will cite Joyce’s story in your first line and after that, in a summary obviously all events come from the story. Note the format of the acknowledgment in your summary’s first line: full name of author, title of story in quotations, title of book in italics. (see attachment).
