Course Preparation
IT214 is a computation and programming course using Python. This course asks students to apply their newly acquired knowledge in the resolution of everyday computation problems and introduces students to Python programming.
Recommended course equipment and software:
– Working computer [with an up-to-date operating system and security patch]
– Camera, Webcam, or smartphone
– Microphone for VOIP – web communication
– The ability to capture physical writing and print to Portable Document Format (PDF), a scanner would be best.
– A screen capture software tool (example, Microsoft Windows Snipping Tool)
– Internet connection [at least four (4) hours per week]
– Download Python 3.9.x
– An Integrated Development Environment (IDE)
Common IDEs are:
– The build-in Python IDLE [Integrated Development and Learning Environment]
– Anaconda
– PyCharm
– Sublime
– Visual Studio Code
