Lean Manufacturing & Total Quality Management (TQM)

Lean manufacturings goal is to reduce costs while optimizing and improving performance through total participation of, not only management, but employees as well, and if they were successful. It is a combined effort with a goal of improving customer satisfaction and hopefully sustaining or improving profitability. 

Total Quality Management (TQM) is the philosophy and system of tools which develop strategies which are both efficient and effective. Lean manufactuing is the forerunner of Total Quality Management. 

Instructions: 

Please prepare a 3-5 page paper illustrating how two different companies in two different industries utilized TQM programs and were they successful. Describe all steps undertaken and how it helped improve customer satistaction.

Continuous Improvement 

Performance Measures 

Research two articles on the two different companies in different businesses and provide example on how their TQM system increased customer satisfaction.
