Learning Stroy

Identify a child in your classroom on whom to complete a learning story assessment.  Write up the learning assessment story using the example on p. 47 as an example.  The learning story assessment must be suitable for use in a family conference.  Identify the child by age, sex, developmental stage, and interests.  Identify why the child was chosen for the observation. Present all observational notes and a summary of findings.  The learning story should include the four steps outlined on p. 46. (Write the story; read the story to the child; Plan; and Connection to family) The learning story should include observations related to child-initiated play, engagement, intentionality, relationships, and learning disposition. You are required to read the story to the student in the process of completing the assignment, but you are not required to share it with the family before submitting it for a grade.
