Let’s consider opposing viewpoints. Acknowledging opposing points of view is an important step in establishing the trust of your audience. It shows that you have carefully considered all sides of an argument and that you take objections and alternative views seriously. You can refute the opposing arguments, but always respect those who disagree with your perspective. (To refute means to disprove, counter, contradict, or negate something.)
By Day 3, share what someone on the opposing side might say to counter your point of view on your topic. Look for a way to acknowledge them and show you understand their viewpoint, but explain why your stance on the topic is the better perspective. How can you refute the points they would make?
