In your fully developed essay establish your position (central argument/thesis statement) regarding the controversy surrounding an issue of security vs. liberty addressed by Gelsey in The FBI Is Reading over Your Shoulder, Khan in Close Encounters with US Immigration, Chavez in Everything Isnt Racial Profiling. Imagine yourself being the same student described in Gelseys essay you are the one who researched a suspicious topic related to terrorism and suddenly found yourself investigated by the FBI. Lets pretend (a make-believe scenario) that a host of any TV/ radio talk show of your choice (for example Real Time with Bill Maher, or Anderson Cooper 360, or The View, etc.) invites you, Gelsey, Khan and Chavez to his program. What would Gelsey, Khan, Chavez say on this talk show (of your choice) in regard to your troubles? (Continuously incorporate direct quotations in MLA format from their own essays to back up their positions.)
Introductory paragraph (1/2) page PLUS 3-4 analytical paragraphs (2 paragraphs on Khans ordeal and 1-2 paragraphs on Chaves s position).
Each paragraph should be developed on page. Each analytical paragraph should integrate a supportive direct quotation from the relevant text (documented in MLA style).
