ABC Company is a search engine optimization (SEO) company that provides website development, search engine optimization, and social networking support for its clients. The company, headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada, has been in business for over 10 years, has a global customer base, and has entered the Gainesville, FL market this year. The Gainesville, FL office is in Celebration Pointe, has state-of-the-art technologies to support its current and future customer base, and is in the process of recruiting staff for the new Gainesville office.
About Your Role at ABC Company
You have been with ABC Company for over 5 years. As a successful Social Media Manager at the companys headquarters, you have proved to be a valuable asset and have been asked to relocate from the companys Las Vegas office to support the Gainesville office start-up process. As a Social Media Manager, you are tasked with working with the companys corporate headquarters Human Resources Department to recruit and select new Social Media Specialists for the Gainesville office. You are excited for the Social Media Specialists to join your dynamic ABC Company in Gainesville.
Your Charge (The Project)
As a Social Media Manager and a recent completer of a management and supervision course, you know that it is critical that the onboarding process is structured and facilitated well. You are charged with developing an onboard process for the Social Media Specialists for the new staff at the new office.
After researching onboarding and reading Ashley Bell’s you have outlined 7 key elements of the onboarding process that you will want to address: recruitment, office visit, offer letter, early onboarding, day 1 welcoming, orientation the first few weeks, and ongoing engagement.
Deliverable
The deliverable for the project is to address each of the 7 key elements above, as described below, using an APA formatted paper.
- Recruitment. For the recruitment element,
- identify and discuss at least 2 sub-tasks that need to be completed, and
- identify the other personnel that will be involved in the recruitment process
- Office Visit. For the office visit,
- identify and discuss at least 2 sub-tasks that need to be completed, and
- identify the other personnel that will be involved in the office visit process
- Offer Letter. For the offer letter,
- identify and discuss at least 2 sub-tasks that need to be completed, and
- identify the other personnel that will be involved in developing the offer letter
- Early Onboarding. For early onboarding,
- identify and discuss at least 2 sub-tasks that need to be completed, and
- identify the other personnel that will be involved in the early onboarding process
- Day 1 Welcoming. For Day 1,
- identify and discuss at least 2 sub-tasks that need to be completed, and
- identify the other personnel that will be involved in the welcoming on Day 1
- First Few Weeks. For the first week’s orientation,
- identify and discuss at least 2 sub-tasks that need to be completed, and
- identify the other personnel that will be involved in the first few week’s orientation process
- Ongoing Engagement. For ongoing engagement,
- identify and discuss at least 2 sub-tasks that need to be completed, and
- identify the other personnel that will be involved in the ongoing engagement process
