In this Discussion, you’ll be making beats and creating some music of your own, with the sounds of the Medieval and Renaissance times. The hurdy gurdy was a very popular instrument during the Medieval and Renaissance eras. Here is a brief history of the Hurdy Gurdy

Open/download a FREE program that is compatible with either Mac or PC that allows you to write beats. Some of them give you a free trial for 30 days and then you have to pay. I would highly suggest using one of these for free, and then cancel your subscription before the free trial is up.

I’ve listed some suggestions for you:
Apple Garageband
Soundtrap (If you’ve never done this before, Soundtrap is very easy to use – I recommend using this program)
FL Studio
LMMS
MuseScore
*any other program you might already use
I have extracted the Audio file for you to use in your DAW (one of the programs listed above). Use this audio track of the Hurdy Gurdy and enter it into the program that you are using.
You will have to first download it from this assignment onto your Computer.
Open the program of your choice, start a “New Project”, insert this audio file into the project, start exploring with adding sounds and beats over the Hurdy Gurdy music, and have some fun.
Create some current beats and rhythms to go with the music I provided you, and make sure you save at least 20 seconds of your work to submit here in this assignment.
Once you have made some beats to layer on top of the Hurdy Gurdy melody, save your work, and upload at least 20 seconds of your work here in the Discussion.
