My topic is Anxiety. I need a report written following the criteria belo. I live in Seattle, WA for the agency in part 2 of the assignment.
PART 1
Thoroughly research and describe the issue that you select. For example, what is the issue, how did it develop, what are some of its primary aspects, and who is being impacted? Explain the nature of this issue (including current facts and statistics) and why it needs to be addressed. What is the state of the current issue?
Criteria for Part 1:
Approximately 2 pages (double spaced)
A minimum of 3 quality sources (cited according to APA guidelines)
Use information that is as current as possible
Part 1 must be written in paragraph form, in your own words, with in-text citations.
PART 2
Locate and report on a local program or agency that serves the group you discussed in Part 1. Thoroughly research and describe the range of programs and services that are addressing this issue. How are services being delivered?
Include as many of the following as possible:
Why did you select this agency?
Where does the agency provide its services?
What is the agency’s mission and goals?
Identify the population being served?
What are the services being provided?
How is the agency funded?
How do they obtain their clients?
Additional information that you feel is relevant to this agency
The sources that you used to obtain this information (web, brochures, visits, etc.)
Considering the topic area you researched, would you feel confident in referring a client to this agency? Why, or why not?
Criteria for Part 2:
Approximately 2 pages (double spaced), including a link to the agency website.
NOTE: Please do the best you can to locate multiple sources of information about this agency, including city, county, and state resource lists. While many agencies have comprehensive websites, feel free to visit the agency/program if appropriate and possible. This is an excellent way to get a genuine feel for the organization and to begin networking and making contacts. A brief interview would be ideal. If this is not possible, consider email and phone contact to obtain complete information. Please be aware of the fact that individuals are often extremely busy. Do not take a lack of response personally; just continue to pursue your collection of information professionally and realistically.
ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES
Citing Sources: Minimum requirements are to cite your sources within your report and to assemble a complete alphabetical list, with details, at the end of your report. The Writing Center is available to assist you. I highly recommend you review the Module on APA formatting posted on CANVAS. Other recommended resources:
HC Library – Cite Sources
HC Library – APA Format
Purdue Online Writing Lab – APA Citation and Format Style
In addition to the above-noted resources, consider the reading materials for this course as a model. You may have noticed that when the author states ideas and research provided by others, the original author’s name is included, along with the date of the publication. All of the sources used by the author are then listed, at the end of the text, with complete information. However, do not use the author’s citations for your report. You will need to obtain the primary source of the research.
The general intent of appropriately citing sources is to ensure that the writer refrains from engaging in plagiarism. Ethically, it requires the writer to give credit to work done by others. The complete list of sources at the end of a paper provides the reader with all of the information needed to locate the original publication and review it in its entirety.
Write a report in complete paragraphs, summarizing the information in your own words and citing the sources in APA format.
Section your report and clearly label each section as Part 1 and Part 2, according to the guidelines above.
