Write a short essay on one current HR related issue for health care managers including strategies to address it. Topics may include one of the following:
Impaired Professionals (Focus on what leaders do to address the situation)
Lateral Violence Among Health Care Professionals (Focus on what health care managers should know and do).
Pandemic Issue (Choose ONE – Supplies, Testing, Staffing, or other of interest)
Other topics are acceptable. Please confirm the topic with the faculty.
*This is a writing assignment. The short essay must be professionally written, without grammar or spelling errors. The essay should be 2 pages with an additional page for references. References should be properly cited by APA format. On page one, include the title of the essay and your name only.
As you research background information, remember the differences in facts vs. opinions. What is a fact? – A fact generally refers to something that is true and can be verified as such. That is, a fact is something that can be proven to be true. Sources of “truth” must be from credible sources, having gone through a scientific process. What is an opinion? – An opinion refers to a personal belief. It relates to how someone feels about something. Others may agree or disagree with an opinion, but they cannot prove or disprove it. This is what defines it as opinion.

Background details on the topic: Inform the person reading this essay about the topic. Why is it an issue? What are the facts? Be careful to use credible sources that can be fact checked.
Solutions: What are one or two strategies health care managers can do to help with the issue or to bring awareness to the role of a manager. Be cautious to use credible sources and and to cite other works, if your solution ideas are in the literature about the topic.
References: There should be at least 2 references from credible sources. No more than 4 references.
