Research Topic Paper
Due:11:59 pm Sunday of Unit 1.
Submit a paper identifying the specific areayou are choosing to do your Research Paper on and why you chose this area, be specific.
For the research paper you are to choose from either Latino Organized Crime, Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs or African/Black Organized Crime and then chose a sub-unit of that organization. Example: Latino Organized Crime – subunit Latin Kings, Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs – subunit Hell’s Angels. Your Research Paper will be on the sub-unit. The paper is to explain how the organization began, history of the organization, when and/or how it turned into an organized crime unit, hierarchy of the organization and where it stands now. Then, from a law enforcement viewpoint, you are going to devise how you would infiltrate the organization and try to “take it down”. Use examples and facts that are realistic. To conclude you are to evaluate if your measures to infiltrate and “take down” the organization would or would not have worked. Explain why or why not .The instructor must approve the topic prior.
Remember, you are only identifying the specific issue that you will be writing your research paper on and why you selected that specific issue. The complete research paper is not due until Unit 7.
The paper shall be in APA format, typed in 12 font Times New Roman, and shall not have been turned in previously to any other instructor for any other course or assignment. Paper length is 1-2 pages not to include the cover page or bibliography. It is to be submitted as a Microsoft Word Document.
