Written submissions are to be no more than Two pages of text (12‐point font), but with references excluded from the limit. A Word template will be provided on UM Learn.
Format: written submissions are to be prepared using an inverted‐pyramid format: starting first with a
Summary section, outlining key conclusions (and/or recommendations); followed by a Background
section, outlining any essential background material; and lastly Analysis section, outlining how/why the
student came to their conclusions or answers. Many students may be unfamiliar with this style of written
submission, so you should all be careful to follow the guidelines as provided. At least three reference
citations are required. Any reference citation format can be employed but must be consistent within a
single assignment.
