Professional development in K-12 schools often has a poor reputation among teachers.  Based on the assigned readings and your professional experience, respond to the following questions:  

1. Why do you believe teachers often have a negative perception of professional development? Support your position with evidence and examples.  

2. Describe the “best” professional development that you have experienced. 

(a) What made it powerful? Be specific. 

(b) How did it change your professional practice? Be specific.

3. (a) Define the seven features of effective professional development presented in the Learning Policy Research brief.

     (b) Identify 3 components that you feel are most critical for educators and WHY? 

Be sure to include a title page and citations in APA format. Submit the questions and responses in Canvas.
