Instructions
As you prepare to enter your profession, it is wise to have a clear picture of professional behaviors and expectations you may encounter and understand some solutions to these problems before they occur.
Below is a list of professional areas you will likely encounter once you enter the workplace. Some may be areas you have experienced and are comfortable with. Others may seem less familiar, or maybe a bit uncomfortable to consider.
For this assignment, please select three items from the list below. For each item you select, envision a problematic scenario you might encounter in your future professional workplace. Describe the scenario in detail. How is this professional issue causing a problem at work? Who is involved? What are the ramifications of this issue? Now offer a solution to the problem that would not only put a stop to the issue, but would also educate those in the workplace about other options or better solutions if this incident were to arise in the future. Provide your co-workers with one or more resources to help them learn more about the issue at hand.
For example, if professional attire is becoming problematic, if people are dressing in such a way as to indicate an inappropriate attitude toward patients or clients, offer a solution to the dress code and then some resources for those who might want to explore options for updating their professional wardrobe, such as colorful scrubs for the medical office staff.
