RESEARCH ARGUMENTĀ
Assignment Description: Students will compose an academic argumentative essay supported by evidence from their research. Essay will be 1200+ words Must have 6 sources and/or determine acceptable types of sources or source guidelines. Assignment Objectives:
- Defend an opinion using logical reasoning and credible evidence
- Organize points effectively and persuasively
- Integrate evidence from sources in synthesis with own opinions & explanations
- Apply academic conventions for citation and attribution of sources
- Construct arguments for academic audiences
- Document sources according to conventions
- Compose and revise texts that synthesize source material with original ideas
