Final Drama/Research Paper Assignment
Write a researched essay on William Shakespeares Hamlet. From there, you will want to place your own ideas in conversation with existing literary criticism. All papers are required to take at least one critical citation from T.S. Eliots essay Hamlet and His Problems and to make use of at least three other scholarly sources.
Finally, all papers must demonstrate an explicit critical approach chosen from the Historical and Ideological Criticism section of The Norton Introduction to Literature. Please review these critical approaches and make sure that some, if not most, of your sources take a similar approach.
Requirements:
-This paper must be FOUR pages long.
-You MUST cite directly from the text of Hamlet and secondary sources: Hamlet and His Problems and AT LEAST THREE other scholarly sources (for a total of FOUR) using proper MLA format for parenthetical citations. Make sure to use quotations from both the text of the play and from secondary sources to support what you have to say.
-You must include a works cited page according to proper MLA format.
