The question they had to answer. (Continuous improvement is a continual process of improvement, which is an ongoing effort to improve products, services, and/or processes in your organization. These improvements can be seen as “incremental,” which happens over time, or “breakthrough,” which happens all at once. Why do you think continuous improvement is so important and yet does not always get the attention it deserves?Review “What is continuous improvement” by kanbanize: https://kanbanize.com/lean-management/improvement/what-is-continuousimprovement and what your textbook says about continuous improvement and talk more about the importance of continuous improvement and how you will integrate it into your organizational design (Bordoloi, pp. 187-203).)

Continuous improvement in institution will decrease the waste cost in the business movement. Enhance the rate of trade movements. Continuous improvement likewise helps to determine new belongings. Efficiency and influence of the business will be reinforced. Therefore, it is main for institution to concern about constant improvement. (Northouse 2022), “The premise of the theory is that different situations demand different kinds of leadership (pg.1). This makes a company to be innovative likewise creative thereby increasing their competitive power. Whether your trade is a startup or an international business, understanding the significance of unending bettering is a key component of Lean and Agile methods. Using it at a narrow scale can help your group conduct in a more excellent manner. Implementing it at a large, as a needing immediate attention, can help your trade stay in front of the contest. The most favorable parties are never compensated accompanying the current situation. They uniformly have their eye on the next novelty, the next level of depiction. They experience the significance of unending bettering completely regions of competition. Even if belongings are going indeed well, public at favorable arrangements are look at what maybe surpass because they can act better. They are verdict habits to work brisker, not harder, in consideration of be more adept and money-making. The most favorable parties are forever institute and expanding new habits to transfer first-rate condition to their clients. But this somewhat nature doesn’t just take place. Companies must write the advantage and significance of unending bettering and build it into all facet of misrepresentation as a discipline method. (Donald 2004), “Choices made now would dictate how much harder it would get.” (p.87). They must train their attendants to study within processes and conceive habits to form bureaucracy more effective. They must study their happiness’s and declines concerning their clients and act established those learnings to go beyond and further client vindication. In today’s fast-exciting and aggressive countryside, this is a fault-finding determinant of most superior guests.

Continuous improvement is based on the teachings and philosophy of W. Edwards Deming. Deming is credited with helping Japanese industry recover from WWII and pursue a strategy of exporting goods of high quality at affordable prices” (Berdoloi et al., 2018, p. 188). It is critical to continuously improve products and services for any organization to thrive and constantly be successful. Continuous improvements can happen through incremental improvements or by a breakthrough. Incremental improvements are those that occur more often. Incremental improvements are smaller improvements that can be taken to work toward improvement continuously. Breakthrough improvements require a dramatic change in technology or innovation to the current processes in an organization. Continuous improvements take hard work and dedication to the organization to achieve success. There are extraordinary processes that are available for those who seek improvements, such as: benchmarking, lean service, sox-sigma, etc. There are also better marketing strategies that can create customer satisfaction as well. Continuous improvement takes skill, work, time, and dedication, yet some of the smallest things that seem to make a big difference, will not be noticed. It can be challenging to change, especially if your organization is later than others. For instance, some businesses did not make it when restaurants that had not been delivering or using a delivery service during the COVID pandemic. It is better to continuously strive for improvements in all areas of your business than wait. As a nurse who would like to, one day, be the administrator of a nursing home facility, I want to make strides toward improvement. The first improvements that I want to make are the resident’s complaints. I would like to offer the residents that live at the facility a voice that can be heard. “Ensuring residential aged care (RAC) facilities are places where older people can thrive, not just survive, is an ideal goal” (Bergland & Kirkevold, 2001). However, if the facility’s residents are happy, it is time to ensure cleanliness and create a better marketing strategy.

The question they had to answer. (Service quality begins with people. All of our measurements to detect nonconformance do not produce a quality service; instead, quality begins with the development of positive attitudes among all people in the organization. How is this accomplished? Positive attitudes can be fostered through a coordinated program that begins with employee selection and progresses through training, initial job assignments, and other aspects of career advancements. To avoid complacency, an ongoing quality-improvement program is required. W. Edwards Deming believed that management was responsible for 85 percent of all quality problems and, therefore, had to provide the leadership in changing the systems and processes that created them. Management needed to refocus attention on meeting customer needs and on continuous improvement to stay ahead of the competition. His philosophy is captured in a 14-point program. Review Deming’s 14-Point Program on p. 194 and then compare/contrast his points to where you are in your organization. For example, #9 states, “Break down barriers between departments. Encourage problem-solving through teamwork and use of quality-control circles” (Bordoloi, p. 194). What does this look like in your organization? How do you plan on making sure this happens in your organization? How about the other points? Try to address 4-5 of these points in your post relevant to your organizational design.)

Deming’s 14-point program was created because “management needed to refocus attention on meeting customer needs and on continuous improvement to stay ahead of the competition”. (Bordoloi, S., Fitzsimmons, J., & Fitzsimmons, M., 2021, p. 194) The programs points have become highly successful, especially in the Japanese culture. According to the text, my company has developed a good and consistent purpose of services and products, however, they are not great at developing or adapting to new philosophies. Many of the workers are expected to preform their tasks but are not concerned with providing a higher level of work ethic. They basically complete what is required of them and that is all. Which often causes a delay in services for patients and extremely long wait times to receive care. They also have difficulty with improving their service systems, because the staff has no incentive to improve their skills Often times, within the healthcare system, incentives are used to keep staff within the facility, rather than used as an incentive to improve their performance which causes complacency within the facility and a decrease in customer and residential services.

According to the text, point number 9 is defined as the “Break down barriers between departments point that is used to encourage problem solving though teamwork and use of quality-control circles”. (Bordoloi, S., Fitzsimmons, J., & Fitzsimmons, M., 2021, p. 195) In the healthcare field, there is a great deal of conflict between departments, which occurs both from differential degrees to the type of units that each healthcare worker works with. One example would be when patients are transferred from the Emergency Rooms to specialized ICU rooms. Often the nurses or staff do not get along because each unit believes that they are superior to the other. Sometimes, they have difficulty understanding the protocols that each unit must maintain as well, causing issues between the departments. Often these issues can be resolved by utilizing a floating staff system and incorporating a primary protocol system throughout the whole facility, rather than using different systems in each unit. Initiating both protocols would break down the conflict that many departments have and ensure that all healthcare professionals are treated equally. As stated in scripture Romans 2:11, “For God shows no partiality”. (King James Version, 2010)

As the prompt states, “Service quality begins with people. All of our measurements to detect nonconformance do not produce a quality service; instead, quality begins with the development of positive attitudes among all people in the organization.” 2 Corinthians 9:12-13 states, “For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God; Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men.” God wants us to show good service so that he may reach others through us. Having a positive attitude can result in success or failure. When one is positive, they don’t let much get them down. I have a great day when I wake up cheerful in the morning and speak positive affirmations. When one has a positive attitude at work, and another person doesn’t, their behavior can reflect over and turns someone’s frown into a smile. I agree with W. Edwards Deming that management is responsible for 85 percent of all quality problems. Management should always focus on providing quality assurance and meeting customers’ needs on a continuous improvement essential to stay ahead of the competition. Deming 14 point program consists of creating constancy of purpose and adopting new philosophy. Ceasing dependence, end the practice of awarding business on price tags along, constantly and forever improving the production and service system, instituting modern training methods along with many other points. I, for one think they all serve a purpose.

The one that stands out to me is removing barriers that hinder hourly workers. Breaking down barriers between departments is also equally important. No one should feel their job is more important than the next; it takes special skills from each department to keep the business afloat. An example is in the hospital, where the nurse gives the medication and assesses the patient. The doctor prescribes and diagnoses. The CNAs assist the nurse in other duties that are less invasive. The custodial department helps to keep rooms and the hospital clean. Phlebotomists draw the blood and take it to the lab to be run. There are many different departments in the hospital, and every one is essential.
