As early childhood educators plan developmentally appropriate curriculum and instruction for their students they must also find ways to communicate what the children are learning to parents and families. This can be done through newsletters, curriculum nights, bulletin board displays or short notes home with information about an upcoming unit or curriculum theme.
Write a short memo (1/2 -1 pages) to families informing them about the curriculum theme and group activities you have planned for your group project. In addition to describing what you have planned and why its important, consider ways that they could be involved such as through donations, volunteering time, participating with their child.
