Section 42 USC

Section 42 USC 1983 is generally seen as a statute to address allegations of citizens being deprived of their Constitutional rights by a law enforcement or correctional officer.  While the bulk litigation is related to law enforcement and corrections, the applicability of Section 42 UCS 1983 is not limited to those disciplines.

Please explain first, to what types of actives can the statute be extended and then discuss the application of the statute to a discipline other than law enforcement and corrections.

Please respond to the post of at least two classmates-preferable one discussing the application of the statute to a different discipline than the one you discussed.
