Now that you have chosen a text to analyze for project 1, read it carefully and take notes. In your notes, make sure to write down what the author’s thesis/main argument is (their position toward English as a global language), what supporting ideas they offer, and the evidence they use (facts, statistics, reasons, etc.). Then read the section . from this short article. After reading the section on writing a summary, review your notes and write a 200-250 word summary of the text. Make sure to include the following in your summary:
- type of source (article, book, website, etc.)
- name of the author
- the main claim/main idea/most important part of the article
- several key points
