Imagine that you are the HIT Director for a healthcare facility and you are tasked with leading the facility in converting their office to electronic health records. For this Assignment, you will design and construct a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation that highlights the planning and implementation process when converting to electronic health records. You will present this PowerPoint to other stakeholders in the HIT Department. Please include the following topics in your presentation:
- Name and describe two examples of EHRs used in healthcare facilities and discuss the pros and cons of each.
- What technologies would the facility need to implement electronic health records?
- Describe how the facility should implement EHRs using the phases of the system development life cycle as a guide.
Your presentation must have at least 1520 slides. Please use the notes section to clarify anything that might be confusing and anything that needs elaboration such as definitions.

- Your submission must be written in Standard English and demonstrate exceptional content, organization, style, and grammar and mechanics.
- Your submission should provide a clearly established and sustained viewpoint and purpose.
- Your writing should be well ordered, logical and unified, as well as original and insightful.
- A separate slide at the end of your submission should contain a list of references, in APA format. Use your textbook, the Library, and the internet for research.
- Be sure to cite both in-text and reference list citations where appropriate and reference all sources. Your sources and content should follow proper APA citation style. Review the writing resources for APA formatting and citation found in Academic Tools. Additional writing resources can be found within the Academic Success Center.
- Your submission should:
- include a title slide;
- be appropriately spaced;
- use a neutral-style font (such as Ariel, Times New Roman, etc.);
- include correct citations;
- be written in Standard English with no spelling or punctuation errors; and
- include correct references on the reference slide.
If work submitted for this competency assessment does not meet the minimum submission requirements, it will be returned without being scored.
