Your assignment for this unit will explore terrorism and the impact it has in your life, as well as the rights of victims of terrorism and what rights terrorists have.
Respond to the following prompts when writing your essay:
Provide a brief overview of the definition and elements of terrorism.
Why is defining terrorism important to our ability to bring these cases to criminal court?
Does the United States have jurisdictional reach to bring terrorists from abroad to our courts of law?
What was your life like prior to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks? How has your life changed since that day?
What is the effect of terrorism on your daily life?
What is homegrown terrorism?
How has the threat of homegrown terrorism made you more aware of your surroundings and impacted your freedom to move about without thinking of becoming a victim of a terrorist act?
Think about legal rights. What rights do victims of terrorist acts have? Do terrorists have rights? If so, what are they?
Your essay should be at least three pages in length, not counting the title and reference pages. Your essay should contain a clear introduction and be well-organized. You are required to use at least three resources to support your essay, one of which may be your textbook. At least one source must be from the CSU Online Library.
