The Balance and Equity of Health Care Delivery for Diverse Populations Paper[WLOs: 1, 3] [CLO: 5]

Prior to beginning work on this assignment, read Chapters 8 and 12 and review Chapter 11 of Delivering Health Care in America: A Systems Approach. You may also find it helpful to view and read the recommended resources listed for this week.

From the readings and work this week and in previous weeks, balancing health care delivery in terms of costs and funding, services, resources, quality of care, and the use of medical and information technologies can be extremely challenging. Inclusive and equitable care for all populations is the goal of health care delivery for better outcomes; however, multiple barriers must be overcome to meet these goals.

In your paper,

  • Breakdown the various types of health care delivery in inpatient settings and the roles of each.
  • Analyze the types of data and strategies needed for management of costs for health care delivery.
  • Explain the importance of quality indicators and how these relate to cost reduction and better patient outcomes.
  • Interpret the access to the care framework and the relationship to access to care for all populations.
  • Suggest initiatives to improve access to care for diverse populations based on identified barriers to equitable access to care.
