Turn of Century, World War and Communism Through Haitian Eyes

!!!!!FICTIONAL ESSAY!!!!

You are writing an essay where you tell the story of a person from Haiti who was alive from the 1870s to the 1930s. Create a name for your narrator. Your narrator will tell us what they witnessed in watching the US invade the Caribbean and Hawaii during the turn of the century, then when the US invaded Haiti in 1915 and then when the people of Haiti fought with Communist support to remove President Hoover and the US from Haiti in the 1930s.

So you need both folders. Watch the videos in both folders. Take notes. And read Chapter 2 of the document called RIBC. Just scroll down and read chapter 2. That is a draft of my book.

Once you have reviewed those materials and taken notes, you can create your historical fiction. It must be at least 7 paragraphs and full of evidence (locations, dates, names of people, newspapers, organizations) during that time. Try to tell us what you think not only of the US bosses behind all this imperialism but, as the Haitian character that you are portraying, what do you think of the American people/workers? Do you also find them to blame or do you see cause for unity/alliance?

This is all based on history. So take your time.
