Unit I Scholarly Activity Visual Presentation In Excel or Word, you will create four visual aids according to the instructions below. Be sure to take a look at the Unit I Scholarly Activity example to assist you in your assignment.
Sheet 1/Page 1: Create a visual aid that will describe the parts of a neuron and neuron functions. Feel free to bring in images from outside sources; just make certain to give appropriate credit by citing images according to APA style. You may insert pictures (e.g., your own collages, clay models, poster board), online pictures, shapes, or SmartArt to enhance your description.
Sheet 2/Page 2: Next, describe the role of neural communication in a simple reflex and its inhibition by brain mechanisms. Do this by creating a model that illustrates the neurological pathways using SmartArt, shapes, or pictures.
Sheet 3/Page 3: Next, you will analyze the structure of synapses, the release of neurotransmitters, the activation of the postsynaptic receptor, the postsynaptic potential, and the regulation of effects of neurotransmitters. Illustrate these neurological processes, and also insert an explanation for each process on your visual aid. Remember that you can insert SmartArt, shapes, pictures, and online pictures to assist you in your explanation.
Sheet 4/Page 4: Create a timeline that illustrates the history and biological roots of behavioral neuroscience.
Sheet 5/Page 5: Create a reference page/sheet.
There should be at least four pages/sheets with 150 words on each page for a total of 600 words. If you choose to complete your project in Word, you may have to add a second page per question in order to fit in the visual aid and the words due to a lack of space on each page. There should also be at least two sources used for this project. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations using APA Style.
