Week 1 Devotional

Ephesians 3:1-13 and Acts 26:9-18
Galatians 2:8-10
Read Ephesians 3:1-13, and Pauls account of his salvation story from Acts 26:9-18. It may be difficult for us to fully appreciate the dramatic change Paul experienced being transformed from the chief persecutor to the apostle for the Gentile world. Yet, it is very important for us to enter into this story to understand his role in being the one called to take the gospel message to the gentiles, as he states in Galatians 2:8-10. This is the message that was sent to our world, which in turn has resulted in our salvation stories.

Consider the essential aspects of the revelation given for us today and the importance of comprehending and applying Gods progressive, unfolding plan of salvation. Having read the account of Pauls conversion and his calling, please respond to the following questions:

1. If someone in your family was put to death as a result of Saul of Tarsus and his persecution, how might you respond to the report you hear that he has now converted to Christ and is back in Jerusalem preaching the gospel?
2. What is the chief value in the story of Sauls conversion for people throughout these past two thousand years?
3. Does his story relate in any way to your salvation story?
