Reflect on the assigned readings for the week. Identify what you thought was the most important concept(s), method(s), term(s), and/or any other thing that you felt was worthy of your understanding. 
Also, provide a graduate-level response to each of the following questions:

  1. Some companies have traditionally been known for their excellence in tangibles, e.g., Xerox in copiers, IBM in computers, who now describe themselves as primarily service companies. Do you agree? What does it take for a company to declare itself as a service organization (e.g., a percentage of business, a certain strategy or mission)? What would it take for you to believe such a claim? 

 

This activity/assignment will help students understand the importance of retaining existing customersActivity: Find a company offering different products and discuss what the company did to retain its customers under particular circumstances.

    Reflect on the assigned readings for Week 6 and then type a two page paper regarding what you thought was the most important concept(s), method(s), term(s), and/or any other thing that you felt was worthy of your understanding.  Define and describe what you thought was worthy of your understanding in half a page, and then explain why you felt it was important, how you will use it, and/or how important it is in project planning.   After submitting your two page paper as an initial post in the “Reflection and Discussion Forum,” then type at least two peer replies in response to your classmates posts (200 word minimum each).

  • 1. In addition to cost, what factors should be considered in selecting a building contractor? What can go wrong if the lowest bid is selected and nothing else is considered? (Answer in your own words, maximum 70 words.)2. What is the difference between an RFP and an RFQ? Give two specific examples where an RFQ could be used and two specific examples where it is more likely that the organization will go with an RFP. (Use examples NOT from your textbook.)3. Prepare a Pareto chart of the possible causes for a student to fail a final examination in a university course.
