 Week 6 Assignment: Peer Evaluation Instructions and Grading Rubric

Assignment Rationale:

Please refer to the course syllabus to determine what percentage this assignment is of your final course grade. The purpose of this assignment is to allow each student an opportunity to evaluate their personal contribution and that of their group members on the case study group project assignment.

Assignment Learning Objective:

Each assignment will be related to a specific learning objective. This assignment is linked to Week 7 Learning Objectives 1 (Consider the design or redesign of healthcare systems to support workflow organization and governance in preparation for the case study group project due in Week 6), 2 (Relate the importance of training, technical support, infrastructure, and ongoing maintenance and evaluation of any healthcare information system project), 3 (Categorize organizational and behavioral factors that can affect system acceptance and use), and 4 (Report strategies for managing change.)

Assignment Instructions:

  1. Read the grading rubric and peer evaluation form (below) carefully.
  2. Download/open the Peer Evaluation Form.
  3. Enter your name, the group number, and a one paragraph self-evaluation statement, explaining your contribution to the group project. Include a percentage break down for each group members participation. This self-evaluation portion will be worth up to three points.
  4. Next, score each group member: Exemplary (3 points), Proficient (2 points), Developing (1 points), or No Credit (1 point) on the six different elements.
  5. Make sure to assign a score to each of the six criteria (highest score possible for each group member = 18).  
  6. Total the points and add the total to the bottom form.
  7. Submit the completed form (as a Word document) using the appropriate assignment link (located in the Week 6 Learning Activities Folder).
  8. An average of the points earned from the peer evaluation, plus the points earned from the self-evaluation portion of the assignment will be the total number of points earned.
