Hi Tamika,
Thank you for writing about different skills a group leader must convey! One key skill I find is very important is assertiveness. If a leader cannot be assertive, control can be lost, and credibility is hard to establish. Dale & Smith (2013) write that “Assertiveness is a skill at the core of many therapeutic group change processes, including addictions, anger management, self-esteem, and socialization.” How do you think assertiveness can be established in sessions such as these?
