Write a 1500 word essay addressing the following task:
In your own words but drawing on knowledge and information available to you from any available sources (e.g. open web search, textbooks, etc.), describe what you understand either sociology or criminology to be concerned with.* Reflect on this in relation to recent news events.
*Choose either sociology or criminology depending on the course you have applied for. If you are applying form BA Criminology & Sociology (Foundation) you may select one or the other subject or discuss both.
