Thanks, you wrote, “A good example of a non-violent crime would be speeding or breaking the traffic rule.” Most definitions of violence focus on direct harm or injury to a person or persons, but some include indirect harm or injury. These can be based on a failure of a “duty to act” or negligence. Does this change anything if the traffic violation or speeding injured another person? There’s no “right” answer, but it’s something to consider. ~ Dr. Roberts
