You have been hired as the new administrator for a busy urgent care facility that has experienced some upheaval in the time since the COVID-19 pandemic was at its peak. The previous administrator was a dysfunctional leader and left things in disarray upon their departure. The hiring board made you aware of the following issues that you will need to address and correct over time:
- High turnover rate in staff
- Frequent conflict between doctors and nurses
- Patient wait times have increased, despite flat levels on admissions.
- ER Chief of Medicine and the previous administrator did not get along due to frequent decisions being made without consulting with the chief.
- Customer/patient complaints due to impersonal and uncompassionate staff.
- While the clinical staff are highly competent and well-trained, there has been an increase in minor clinical errors, leaving concern for a major quality event.
You should complete a 3-page case analysis that includes three distinct sections (in addition to your introduction and conclusion):
- Major Facts – Provide a brief overview of the case (do not simply restate it from the assignment).
- Problem(s) – Specify each problem and explain its significance
- Solution and Expected Outcome – Recommend a solution, and for each recommendation provide an action on how it would be implemented. For each solution provide your expected outcome.
