You will prepare an analysis (7-8 pages of content) that describes the crisis, describes the organization or individual’s response to it, analyzes the response using course concepts/theories, evaluates the response, and offers suggestions for how the organization could have done better where appropriate. Your paper MUST include at least. seven scholarly references (journal articles from library or scholarly book chapters).
The crisis you need to write about is the Tide Pod Challenge and how P&G responded. This is elaborated more in the project proposal file attached, with provides information on the background of the crisis and the concepts/theories that need to be used to analysis the crisis.
Your paper should include: (1) Introduction section (2) description of the crisis/disaster that occurred, (3) description of how the organization/individual responded to the crisis/disaster, (4) analysis of how well the organization/individual responded using course concepts/theories as a framework, (5) and recommendations for what the organization/individual could have done better (or why they made no mistakes), and a brief conclusion. The more insightful your writing and analysis, the more you will be rewarded with points. That is, surface observations (e.g., “the university did not respond effectively”) will not be rewarded as much as will more in depth and subtle observations (e.g., “the crisis happened Thursday evening, but the university did not respond until Monday morning. According to situational crisis communication theory (Smith, 2008), organizations should respond … “). The paper should be written in APA style (12 pt. font, 1-inch margins, double-spaced) and be spell-checked, proof- read, and grammatically correct. A cover sheet should be included with reference page attached; your paper MUST include at least seven academic references (journal articles from library or book chapters). Website references, e.g. wikipedia.com, and popular books/magazines, e.g. Forbes, do not count toward your seven academic sources.Grading Criteria for Written Activities will be followed in assessing this learning activity (See separate sheet in this packet). Additionally, the paper will be judged on how well the case study is used to teach course concepts to the reader.
attached is a sample paper to look at as a reference to what need to be included in the paper you are writing.
