Your presentation should include:

  1. Background of the chosen photographer and historical context of their work (mona kuhn)
  2. A description of the photos / style etc…
  3. Your interpretation / reflection the photos
  4. A connection between the formal elements used and your interpretation of them

Using one of the following methodologies:

                        Marxism

                        Feminism

                        Queer theory

                        Formalism

Overall:

Pick a photographer (mona kuhn) and one or two of their photos.  Discuss the photographer’s background / history and context of their work.  Then, critique one or two of their photos using the methods described above and steps one through three listed above.  Finally, answer the question:  why are they important to photo history? 

Presentations may be casual in form and should not exceed 10 – 15 minutes.
