1.   Why is staffing so important to the success of an organization? Should organizations want people to contribute to the company over long-term or only focus on filling vacancies in the short term? Justify your answer. 

2.  There are several major federal laws that affect staffing; they are in place for organizations to follow. Although employment laws are in place, some organizations still face employment lawsuits. These are laws that affect staffing, regardless of the employment type. What is meant by employee, at-will employment, and contingent work? What advice would you give an organization considering these types of employment relationships? Would you recommend one over the other? Why? 

3. If you ask some managers about conducting job analyses, you may get a very negative response. Why do you think some organizations choose not to perform job analyses? Are there benefits to performing job analyses? Why, or why not?
