The reason I chose this article is that it gives more insight into The Story of Ying Ying. Different people could interpret the story of Yingying in different ways. At the story’s beginning, it appears that both Zhang and Yingying had their own deceitful behaviors. As the story continues, however, it is clear that one person among them was serious about what the relationship they had meant for them; this was Zhang. My opinion is that Zhan was more honest in the relationship compared to Yingying, and this can be proven by several factors and events that took place in the story.
The first is that when Yingying invites Zhan to her apartment for the first time, she calls him a virtual rapist. This statement crushes Zhan because his intentions with the girl are honest. After Yingying makes an impromptu visit to Zhan and has sex with him, she does this and leaves without uttering any words, which only leads to more confusion for Zhang (Hightower, 2018). What followed was a series of events where Zhan would sneak into Yingying’s place for their casual sex night after night.

Lanvaltheloverblog.wordpress.com
The link posted to this article I researched Marie de France, “Lanval,” Read “Lanval” and “Laustic,” by Marie de France; selections from the Decameron, “The Story of Ying Ying,” Courtly Love, Dante, or the Inferno or Popul Vuh.
I chose this link because it listed the five themes:
- The Idyllic Man Paired with the Idyllic Woman. Lanval is living in Arthur’s court
- Loyalty to King Arthur & Courtly Love. When Queen Guinevere, King Arthur’s wife tried to seduce Lanval.
- Comedy (An Ending that Makes Us Feel Good) & the Romantic Lai. The Anthology “romance satisfy our deepest imaginative desires.
- Disappearing Vs. Dying & Rejection of the Court and Society Lanval disappears giving an immortal quality to escape from the struggles of daily life
- The Idea that a Pure and Fair Woman is/Must be Supernatural & The Purpose of Love. Lanval meets his lover, her beauty and adornments are priceless.
A man does not have to be celestial to be good, but a woman does. It also puts men on a pedestal.

KIMBERLY’S POST:
The majority of the productive tasks that women once performed in the home and in mass-production industries based on routine unskilled labor have been eliminated thanks to modern technology. The same technology has increased the need for creative intelligence in American industry while virtually eliminating muscular strength as a qualification for the majority of jobs. In light of the new industrial revolution brought about by automation in the middle of the 20th century, women can and must participate in all fields of society, old and new, on an equal basis, or they will remain outsiders forever.
The actual position of women in the United States has declined to an alarming degree throughout the 1950s and 1960s, despite all the recent discussion of their status. Although 46.4% of all women in the United States who are between the ages of 18 and 65 now work outside the home, the vast majority, or 75%, work in routine clerical, sales, or factory jobs, or they work as housekeepers, cleaners, or nurses. The lowest-paying service jobs employ roughly two-thirds of black women. Women who are employed are becoming more and more concentrated at the bottom of the job ladder. As a result, full-time women workers today earn only 60% of what men do, and this wage gap has grown in every major industry group over the past 25 years.
Discussion: Assessment at the Micro and Macro Levels

Kimberly’s post:
The assessment process is a little different in terms of individual or family. Family assessment is a little more complex since it involves more than one individual. Therefore you need to be able to look at the family and figure out how it functions as a whole. “We will take into account such factors as communication patterns, family structure, lifecycle challenges, impact of the social environment, and key areas of family conflict” (Kirst-Ashman & Hull). Whereas individual assessment involves more of identifying the client , assess the client’s situation on a micro, mezzo, and macro level. Then figure out and cite what the clients’ needs really are and what issues they are dealing with. Making sure then to look at what the clients strengths are that can be utilized in the treatment plan.
When doing assessments it is important to collect information in terms of background, family make up, education, health problems, socioeconomic status, Along with challenges they are facing. While also looking at the strengths.
Assessments at the micro and macro level are different and similar in nature. Macro and micro assessments both are direct in terms of figuring out what outcomes to pursue, when to stop collecting data, and figuring out what risk to take. However the assessment is different in the way that Macro does not work one on one with problems. It is taken to higher government agencies in the long run and looks at what needs can be addressed on a bigger scale for the common good of the overall well-being of the people it serves. Gathering info at the Macro level is also different since most work would be done by working with analysts and educators and conducting research.
A situation where a client might be reluctant to do an assessment is that of a family that has had a CPS case in the past and someone called again and a social worker was sent to the home to check things out. The Mother and or Father might be reluctant to share information from fear of being in trouble. Having their children taken out of the home, and or have criminal charges put on them.

Kayleigh’s post:
Individual assessments are characterized by the following: identifying the problem, identifying contributing factors, and finding what could solve or rectify the problem (Kirst-Ashman & Hull, 2018). Things to consider when making assessments are an individual’s family, culture, environment, and interactions in an individual’s life. It is also important to understand any crises going on in a person’s life, such as loss of employment, partnership, etc (Kirst-Ashman & Hull, 2018). It is also important to identify the problem from the individual’s point of view. It is also important to gather information related to client strengths (Kirst-Ashman & Hull, 2018).
To assess on a micro level with the intent to work with individuals, the client must clearly be identified. After an individual and individual system is identified, the problem set can be identified—including what the client says is a problem, a worker recognizing unmet needs, and barriers to needs being met (Kirst-Ashman & Hull, 2018). Finally, strengths are recognized. Types of problems a worker may assess on a micro level include interpersonal conflict, dissatisfaction in social relations, problems with formal organizations, difficulty performing a role, psychological and behavior issues, to name a few (Kirst-Ashman & Hull, 2018).
Macro assessments focus on changing something about a large number of people at one given time. A worker can talk to individuals to gather what they identify as the problem that has the most pressing need in an environment to be changed (Kirst-Ashman & Hull, 2018). This is similar in the assessment of an individual, but rather than an individual problem, individuals are identifying a community problem. Next, a worker has to evaluate needs and lacking resources of a community, which is similar to evaluate needs of an individual. Finally, a worker must evaluate the potential for resources to be available (Kirst-Ashman & Hull, 2018). This is similar to recognize an individual’s strengths, but rather recognizing the potential of a community. In a macro assessment, the worker is utilizing skills for a micro level on a larger scale and evaluating an environment’s needs based on individuals, as well.
An individual may be reluctant to engage in an assessment if they are court-ordered to engage, such as those who are instructed by a judge to engage in substance abuse recovery, or a parent who is ordered to engage by CPS.
